At Kane Psychology, our expert therapists work with children as young as four years old to help them be the happiest that they can be.

Psychotherapy with children and adolescents is uniquely and beautifully different from work with adults. Our therapists specialize in connecting with young people in developmentally appropriate ways—through play, creativity, and thoughtful rapport-building. These connections are essential; they create the sense of safety and trust that allows children and teens to open up, reflect, and grow.

Effective child therapy also means knowing how to say things so kids truly understand them. Our clinicians are skilled at translating complex emotions and ideas into language that resonates with young minds, helping children feel seen, understood, and supported as they build insight, confidence, and coping skills. This language can then be shared with parents to ensure the most effective change.

Some areas of expertise of our clinicians include, but are not limited to:

  • Obsessive-compulsive disorders and specific phobias

  • Body image issues and self confidence

  • School avoidance and homework resistance

  • Working with youth with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, or other neurodevelopmental disorders

  • Social challenges and separation anxiety

  • Sports anxiety and test anxiety

  • Panic Disorders

  • Navigating divorce and family changes
