Kane Psychology PLLC is excited to welcome back Meg Kane, LMSW, to the team! Meg previously worked for Kane Psychology as a general therapist, and returns now as specialist in disordered eating, eating disorders, and body image issues. Meg approaches their work from a collaborative, warm, health-at-every-size perspective.

Many young people today face tricky topics associated with food and body image, including social media pressures, complicated relationships with food, and obsessive thoughts about body size or weight that can become impairing. Meg is available to provide consults to new or existing patients, to advise patients and/or their parents, regarding navigating these topics.

Examples of questions/topics that Meg can help families navigate are....

  • How do I support a healthy body image in my child?

  • How do I support a healthy relationship with food for my child?

  • When should I be concerned about my child's body image or relationship with food?

  • What are healthy ways to cope with shame, guilt, or anxiety around food?

  • How do social media and cultural pressures affect eating and body image, and what can be done to mitigate the challenges?

The length and frequency of each consultation will be individualized to each patient, and can occur as a standalone service or as part of ongoing treatment at Kane Psychology PLLC. If you are interested in this service, please use the “Contact Us” button for more information.
